What is an Electric Actuator?

An electrical actuator refers to an actuator or a motor powered by electricity and converts electrical energy to mechanical torque energy. These are used to offer position control and movements that are limited by the influence of manual movement, electrical movement, air or hydraulic pressure induced movement. This is one of the cleanest actuators as no oil is involved. Hence, these are widely used. It is seen that the two most important positioning of the actuators involve linear actuators which perform the task of push and pull.

An electric actuator is a one kind of a motor which comes in various voltages and is mainly the torque producing element. The actuators are built with thermal sensor which can effectively control the current flow. As you know that when the actuator gets excited, it is likely to draw extreme current which might result in serious mishaps. However, with the help of the thermal sensor, we can make sure that extreme current is not drawn, and we are able to seal the circuit right on time. The sensor is activated once the actuator started drawing current and closes the circuit after attaining proper temperatures for functioning.

Therefore, this is the main work of an electric actuator. As said previously, there are many motions which the actuator can perform. Hence, there are different types of electric actuators. Let us look at the different types of actuators.

Different Types of Electric Actuators Are:

Smart electric linear actuator: This type of electrical actuator is associated with linear output dislocation. In simpler words, they are responsible for positioning. These are quality actuators which are widely used. Not only that these actuators are stable and made of high precision material. They also have a broad application environment similar to valves.

Rotary Cut off electric Actuator: The rotary electric actuators are actuators which allow the signal to integrate and alter. This allows displacement of angle that is equivalent and can control valve and achieving the modification of the automatic task. The automatic changes involve the bi-directional intrusion, mechanical intrusion, and physical intrusion for controlling the systems so that they are recognized. The actuator essentially comprises of two parts which are the actuator and the servo amplifier. These actuators can be controlled from a distance, as well.

Linear cut off Electric Actuator: These are modern types of electric actuators which have been established to obtain a prearranged linear reciprocating motion. They are available in two models, AC single phase power and AC three phase power supply. These electric actuators are employed as regular valve actuators. These are widely used in many industries due to their ability of controlling the valve itself. Various industries such as power generation, paper making, petrochemical, and environment protection, metallurgical and light industries use this electric actuator.

Rotary regular type electric actuator: The rotary regular type electric actuator is a fully electronic actuator which gets input signals from operator, PC, or regulator to work with single phase power supply. It is similar to driving power supply and has a servo system. With this actuator, there is no need for an extra servo system. They accept various complex mixed integrated circuits. They are hardened by pouring resins and are highly inconsistent with opposing vibration and moisture. Apart from this, the electric actuator also has temperature, overload, and torque switch for the safety measures. They are in control precision and are competent for figuring out the angular travel electric regulating valve.

Conclusion

Therefore, these are some types of electric actuators available for our use. Each actuator has its own special use and importance in the different industries. Thus, as per your work, you can make an informed decision.
